8th -12th  August Vyomini - The Divine Solo show by Shuchi Krishan

13th -18th  August Nitanjali Art Gallery presents A Symphony of New Works Solo show by Kamar Alam

Theme of the Exhibition:
The central theme of these works of art is the way human and non-human elements interact in my routine life and to some extent in your life too. How we as humans, or as individuals are trying to fulfill our material as well as non-material desires. We desire some things emotionally and spiritually, but we require some things for our survival. Everyday is a quest in life to understand the fine line between desires and needs; things that we want to leave behind but things that would not leave us. Moments become minute when I am lost in the thoughts that form my subconscious.

Sometimes, I am very still and quiet and feel the air around me. In those moments I feel my existence and presence on this earth very strongly. It is this strength that fuels me to start each day of my life with a new energy. It also shows us our path and makes us believe in our purpose. Though purpose is a very difficult word and idea to explain; it is there inside every one of us. What we want to be and what is it that we want to do.

There is also only one truth, which I always believe in and that is the Supreme. The world around us is constantly changing. Nothing is stable or forever. I am gradually learning to accept all change. There is only one permanence, which is God. Even if my perception changes towards my work from time to time, but my faith and silent dialogues with the Supreme never ends. It is there, unconsciously.

By preserving a fresh presence of God, I always try to paint some new aspect of life. God's people should reflect His beauty in their character. Also the respect and importance of interrelationship between a human and another human find reflection in my paintings. In every relation God looks upon. The invisible emotional attachment and the compassion that exist are delicate. I see in my paintings, calm, peaceful human souls.

My paintings focus on this single, most powerful form of the human. Human are filled with so many emotions, some completely unique. These emotions and feelings mold my figures. It could be an isolated emotion of a person, or it could be an emotion arising out of a dialogue. This dialogue can be between human-human and human-god.

19th -24th  August Visual Diary Solo show of paintings, video art, drawings & sculptures by Kavita Singh Kale

Theme of the Exhibition:

The series of work that have been done in past few years is about loosening chaos in mind by translating the day to day life in the form of visual diary.  The body of work has certain specific reflections of events which have happened over the period of time that has left strong impressions on the artist. These embedded events have affected life consciously or subconsciously and has urged her to collectively document it with different visual media. The colours, forms, patterns, textures and treatment are symbolic representation of the feelings that she had during the process of experiencing ‘life’ as it came facing and went past by.

16th - 20th  August Black and white perspective on Expressions of Body, Mind and Soul An art exhibition by Anita Chauhan

This Black and white perspective of Anita Chauhan’s figurative contemporary art brings a creative continuum of her style and genre.  They are a study of expressions of body, mind and soul on hand made paper with charcoal and water colour.  What the body can depict, what soul can desire and what the mind can speak is what Anita has tried to express- when you combine mind and soul with the body, the combination is capable of expressing a myriad of feelings.  A woman’s body manifests itself into a thousand things and is capable of reflecting all that is humanly earthy or divinely spiritual. A woman’s expression based on personal and social interactions and the ups and downs in her routine life is what the artist has also tried to bring out in her works.  In the end she feels there is always a positive future with a dawn of hope, a world full of love, peace and happiness.

Anita Chauhan is a serious painter and in her third solo exhibition has tried to put a collection of thoughts titled “Expressions of Body, Mind and Soul”.

Anita’s two solo exhibitions held in 2005 and 2008 were very successful and her paintings have been admired and collected by many.  She is seen as a very important emerging artist with a potential to add something new to the world of art.
