24th - 30th June ‘His / Her Story - My voice against violence as a woman’ solo exhibition of Eleena Banik’s Paintings and Sculptures. This series of works are based on human relations and humanity. The conflict between one individual and the turbulent reality in his surroundings, the violence and terrorism in the contemporary society, the political turbulence disturbs me/ haunts me as an individual. This group of paintings are like the conversation between my inner self and outer reality which took form on my canvases. Basically is the social and political violence between human being/ between one country with the neighbouring country or any other foreign country. But basically all human beings are member of this society. All men and women born on this earth are restless for different reasons and fighting with each other forgetting mankind. I as an artist tried to look at the society from a distance like a birdseye view and wrote the story of them today, tomorrow and day after. Medium - The medium of these group of works are oil on canvas. Mostly there will be paintings on canvases. And also some sculptures are going to be exhibited. These sculptures are in Bronze. They are casted in traditional bronze casting technique. But the subject of the sculptures are contemporary. They are figurative and theme is the same his/her story.

8th - 13th June ‘Dissolving Stones’ Sculpture Show by Perminder Singh Sculptor’s words It is in doing that one realizes the essence of one’s life. Every man is born to do a certain kind of work. There are very few people who do what their soul dictates. I have realized that I am born to be a sculptor. I took birth in a small village of Punjab (India). Whatever virtues I have cultivated in my spirit, is the result of my inner involvement with the simplicity of the life and culture of my native land. I may go anywhere but the fragrance of those memories always reminds me the power of my roots. My works are inspired from nature and society. As nature inspires the society, so are my sculptures. Life in different shades requires motion, and rhythm is the soul of all motion. Balance thus achieved is a mystery and a rare achievement. I have really enjoyed the journey of exploring the motion amongst human figures and forms. My forms appear to melt in warmth of human emotion. I firmly believe the matter posses maximum energy of rhytm and motion in the liquid form. This interaction charges me to work without looking back. There is a sincere attempt to find an appropriate blending of logic and imagination in my work. For me human mind is the most fruitful creation of Almighty. So my works reflect the significance of this brain in transmitting human energy. I am blessed to be born in a country where there were sculptors who created the wonders like - monolithic temples, Kailash Nath and Elephanta . I feel their presence in me and I am longing for those moments when I would contribute for the glory of my mother land in the world of art.

30th April – 20th June Petals Foundation - an NGO organization that works in the area of "Disability Integration" particularly with children who are hearing handicapped or mentally challenged. Our singular focus at Petals is towards bridging the differently abled with the industry to create a long term sustained success model that is based on a mutually beneficial relationship rather than on donations alone. The unique social integration model at Petals is built on:
  • Focus on a partnership model between the "Differently Abled" and the Industry instead  of donations

  • alone.

  • Consumption of products and services(art and office use) which multiplies the corporate partner's

  • support by creating a mutually beneficial long term relationship.

  • Transparency into the progress and accrued benefits over time

We reach the children through special schools/institutions where they "create" a variety of office/personal use items - products ranging from art(greetings or large poster sized oil/water color art), interior/office decor, note pads, file folders, calendars and many other common use office consumables. The success of this model really depends on the extent to which businesses participate in a mutually beneficial relationship by using the products rather than on just one-time donations.Triumph of Life over Disability Petals Foundation D-84, Sector-40,
