Synopsis: A pair of Jersey girls wander through the singles bar scene of the New York City suburb of Bayonne. As they seek lasting relationship amidst the smoky dive bars and Springsteen songs, Debby (Uma Thurman) and Beth (Juliette Lewis) begin to understand that love isn't like the pop songs that are played on the jukeboxes.

Synopsis: The story of Gauri and Krishna - two ordinary middle-class girls who, as their fate would have it, fall into different circumstances in life. After her husband's fatal accident, Gauri comes to her poor brother in Bombay only to become a sex worer.

Film Club Discussion Group meets for the screening and discussion of Lars Von Trier's much acclaimed "Dancer in the Dark" (2000) (140 mins.). Filmmaker and Film Scholar Ranjani Mazumdar will introduce the film and facilitate the discussion. "Dancer in the Dark" won the Palme D'Or at Cannes in 2000 as well as the Best Actress award for a heart-rending performance by Bjork.
