Discussion Group meets for the screening and discussion of
the much acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's "All
About My Mother" (1999) [105 MINS]. Film-Maker and Film
Scholar Ranjani Mazumdar will introduce the film
and facilitate the discussion. And ode to women, All About My Mother
explores the liberating effect of the solidarity between women. Almodovar
received the best director award at Cannes (1999) and best European
Director of the Director of the Year (1999). The film also won the
Oscar the best foreign language film (2000), the Golden Globe Award
(2000) and the Best Movie of the Year at the San Sebastian Festival
of Spin (1999). |
