Release of the English translation of Joy Goswami's novel SAANJHBATIR ROOPKATHARA PUB: SRISHTI, followed by an interaction with the author & the director and screening of the film of STROKES & SILHOUETTES (2002, 120 mins. subtitled) Cast: Soumitra Chatterjee & Indrani Haldar. Saanjhbati, an idealist and dreamer, is influenced by the world of strokes and colours of her father's canvas. The Film describes the inner struggles of the girl, her relationship with her family and her ultimate realisation about life.

FILM CLUB DISUCSSION GROUP meets to discuss Lara Von Trier's MEDEA (1987/Denmark/76 mins.) is based on a script (for an unmade film) by Carl Dryer, in turn based on Euripedes' famous play. Medea is a foreign sorceress, abandoned by her lover Jason. In a mad fit of rage, she plot the killing of her own children. Film scholar Rashmi Doraiswamy will present the film.
