The Extension Centres are to be opened OUTSIDE DELHI too. The requests have been made by various NGOs from outside Delhi but due to lack of resources, HLC is unable to move ahead beyond Delhi.

Developing training and teaching aids: At HLC our goal is to provide children with a meaningful environment where they can learn computers through hands-on activities, experiences and interesting lessons. To accomplish this we intend to prepare Theoretical and Practical study material and software that could be disseminated for replicability.

Programmes for special needs children: HLC will explore the option of creating similar opportunities for physically and mentally (mild retardation) challenged children.

Interactive website: An interactive website will be hosted by HLC, which shall facilitate information on NGOs, funding agencies, volunteers and provide linkages for children. The web site will provide online counseling; provide a platform for child right issues and advice on education, health and nutrition aspects.

Science Club: HLC with NIIT-CRCS has set up a science club for the children availing the facilities of the Centre. This initiative is to provide these children experimental knowledge of science and know about how-to.

Workshops: HLC is also involved in conducting various workshops on issues concerned to the underprivileged children and women empowerment so that they can focus on their rights to live with dignity. The Centre also organizes short term inspirational interactive sessions for the children coming to the Habitat Learning Centre enabling them to learn lessons based on true story of struggle of the eminent personalities. Legal literacy programme is one of the most wanted one amongst the youth and women, which gives them ideas on how to solve certain issues of day-to-day life.

Radio Community Programme: Yet another initiative of HLC for rights to the programmes, which is in the pipeline and would be starting as pilot project first.

Till date HLC has trained 1300 (approx) children and 250 Facilitators / teachers from approx. 60 partner Non-Governmental Organizations in Delhi.

Some of the partner NGOs are: Cancer Roko Trust, UK,, Prayas, Butterflies, Samarth Plan, Vidya Integrated Development For Youth and Adults, Project Why, STOP, SWATI, VIMHANS, Udayan Care, Youth Reach, Salaam Balak Trust, Action India, BAL SAHYOG, CASP, Discipleship Centre, Mobile Creche, Very Special Arts, World Vision, Indian Community of Youth Organization, Manzil, Rotary Club of Delhi South, Amba Foundation, India Sponsor Foundation, Saranyu Foundation and many more.

Habitat Learning Centre’s endeavor for “REACHING THE UNREACH”, as a part of its philosophy, chosen to focus on enabling awareness, expression of views and development of linkages at the individual or at the institutional level. At the conceptual level, the Centre is uniquely a partnership between institutions, research groups and some voluntary organization. It also got global recognition being the finalist of Stockholm Challenge Award and Global Knowledge Partnership Award.

The Habitat Learning Centre managed to place approx. 40 students after completion of their 6 months course in companies like GE Capitals, Just Dial, McDonald, MTNL and so on so forth. By this agenda of changing lives in an unimaginable way, the Centre is diminishing the GAP between HAVE’S AND HAVE-NOT’S.
