Graphic designer and photographer Pascal Colrat presented by the Embassy of France in collaboration with Alliance Francaise called 'Bag from India'. This exhibition will showcase photographs, embossed on a variety of bags, a novel method of representation of art works. These images are sourced from the immediate environs of India ranging from the mythical & social to the symbolical. The focus will be on the vibrant and urbane face of contemporary India. | ||

An exhibition of watercolours and sketches by Gunjan Gujral, a young and gifted girl who died at the age of 24. This show is an ode to Gunjan, who while struggling with cancer for two years, painted 32 soul-stirring works of art. | ||

The Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods in painting, architecture and music. Samrang in collaboration with the Visual Arts Gallery presents a three-evening audio-visual presentation by Parag Trivedi. An unusual presentation, it relates the visual and auditory output from 1600 to 1900; this three-part introduction will show how the painting, sculpture and architecture of the Baroque (1600-1750) period was the visual counterpart of the music of the same period. The paintings of Rembrandt, Vermeer and the architecture of Bernini and Pergolesi will be related to the music of Bach and Handel. Similarly the music of Mozart in the classical period (1750-1825) will be related to the canvases of Goya. Finally the passion of Manet, Monet, Renoir and Degas will be related to the compositions of Brahms, Dvojak and Tchaikovsky of the Romantic Period (1825-1900).
