Experimental Art Gallery - New Initiative by IHC
India Habitat Centre launches an avant-garde art initiative - The Experimental Art Gallery.
Art is the wealth of the nation. It is one of the voices of our cultural spectrum. It is up to us to nurture it and promote a cross-cultural dialogue between various new mediums to facilitate expression and enhancement of creativity. In its bold experimental step towards nurturing and promoting new media art, the Experimental Art Gallery has set the stage for showcasing creativity in the form of moving images, video art, photography, installation, Internet art, among others.
Experimental Art Gallery serves as an engine to introduce a new language – the new media – to the viewer, sensitising him to the new vocabulary that has already set the pulse of the art arena racing world over.
It is an extension of India Habitat Centre’s efforts to become a non-profit centre in the country that has consistently promoted and supported contemporary art. Support has been extended not just to the established but also to those struggling to find a platform in the world of art. IHC’s new initiative is intended to work as a station for a productive interface between art, education, production and consumption.
