Smt. Sumangala Agarwal, was born in Calcutta, in a tradition marwari family. She is self taught artist, who took the hobby of painting in her late teens with encouragement given by her parents. Her father inlaw, Shri A.K. Agarwala, Director, (whole time), Hindalco Industries Ltd. encouraged her to continue with her creative expression.

Sumangala is a multifaceted artist, who has portayed a diversified vision in vivid colours through her imagination. Her work is reflected in various textures, mediums, styles and themes on canvas, glass, fiber, glass, wood and metal. Sumangala has mastered different styles on acrylic, ceramic, precious stones and gems, gold, silver, aluminium, and copper. He works in different textures could be seen on exquisite designer frames, which bought her recognition and acclaim in the world of art.

Her exhibitions in Mumbai, Calcutta, Lucknow, Varanasi and Allahabad brought immence recognition in the world of art.
