‘IHC’s Annual Arts Journal’ |

The Visual Arts Gallery is in many ways a cultural catalyst. It publishes an annual arts journal which is not only a document of the year’s activities but includes contributions, articles and features which discuss issues and provide the academic component to the year long activities. It also focuses on concerns vital to the field of visual arts. 2001 marked the launch of the first annual Visual Arts Journal. The first issue attempted a more in-depth understanding and appreciation of art, while the second issue released in the spring of 2002 explored the all-pervasive issues of globalisation, cosmopolitanism and internationalism. The third issue released in 2003, was devoted to the art form of photography and the fourth journal, released in 2004, was exclusively on the subject of Design. The fifth and current journal is devoted to the issue: “India as the knowledge bowl of the world’’. |

In its
attempt to take art out of the white cube and sensitizing people to
the various forms art can take, the Visual Arts Gallery also publishes
a quarterly magazine called the 'I' – An Eye Piece to the Visual
Arts'. In this newsletter, readers are encouraged to write in their
responses, making the publication a discursive space. The 'I' also
gives an overview of the interesting events in the field of arts that
take place in India and abroad. Complimentary copies of the 'I' are
given to all the members of the India Habitat Centre. You can the PDF
